2026 trials

Trials are for BOYS born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2016 (current Years 5/6/7 + Year 8 who are not already in a Seniors team), and GIRLS born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2018 (current Year 3/4/5/6/7/8).

All existing WSLL players will be sent a message from SPOND to re-register for the coming season. The message will contain a link to a re-registration form – please use the link to check your registration details. Anyone not already registered with WSLL must use the ‘Join Us’ link on our website’s home page.

Younger children do NOT need to trial, but they MUST re-register using the link sent from SPOND to be allocated a place in a team – watch out for SPOND messages.

When registering for the first time or re-registering you will be required to confirm your consent to our code of conduct and agreements on our shared responsibilities - so please read carefully. WSLL provides football for players regardless of ability, our ethos is different to other leagues and we promote effort and enthusiasm over results – it’s not all about winning - please ensure this is right for you?

WSLL uses SPOND as its database and communication tool. Please ensure you install the SPOND APP on your phone and monitor it for updates.

DATES: Saturdays 25th April, 2nd and 9th May 2026
PLACE: Cheam Recreation Ground, Tudor Close, Cheam, SM3 8QT.
TIMES: Please arrive 15 minutes before session starts to register.

You must register each week you attend!

Boys born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2014 - 08.45am
Boys born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 - 09.45 am
Boys born between 1st September 2015 and 31st August 2016 - 10.45 am
Girls born between 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2018 - 09:45 am

You must attend at least 2 trials. If there is a good reason for not attending, parents should send an email to the email address below. Those who do not attend 2 weeks without good reason may not be allocated a team place in the first instance. Please TALK TO US with any issues preventing attendance.

Please wear football boots, shin pads (compulsory). The first week you come, you will be given a number, which you must remember to bring the following week. Please do NOT wear jewellery – taped earrings are NOT allowed.

After the last trial

Provided players attend 2 trials, they will be eligible to be selected for a team subject to space.

You will receive a SPOND INVITATION to your new team by 30th June.

Please remember you must sign in each week you attend to be eligible to be allocated to a team next season. Note that if boys are already in a team, we cannot guarantee that they will be promoted into a higher team. We are heavily subscribed in some age bands so priority to team places will be for existing players and new registrations based on when they registered subject to availability.

Family Memberships:

Those families that can afford to pay the voluntary WSLL Family Membership are requested to pay the 2026 season £50 when signing in at the trials (no player will be refused the right to trial or play if the cost is a problem– we are here to provide football for all, so please talk to us in confidence if this is an issue).

Cash, cheque (payable to West Sutton Little League) or credit/debit card are acceptable.
